About Me

I’m Josslyn, the founder of The Flowr Studio, a Latina woman-owned floral design studio dedicated to creating artful, intentional florals. My journey into floral design started out of necessity—I couldn’t afford the high minimum prices for wedding florals in my area. With a green thumb, a home full of houseplants, and a garden of my own, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I dove into research, practiced arranging flowers weekly, and the more I designed, the more I fell in love with the process.

Now, I am sure you’re wondering, didn’t you spell Flower wrong, Josslyn? Great question! Our name comes from the term Flow, referencing Flow State. Flow state is that immersive, focused feeling where time seems to disappear—when you're so engaged in what you're doing that everything else fades into the background. I’ve always been drawn to hands-on, detail-oriented work that allows me to create with both structure and intuition. I felt it when cooking and baking, losing myself in the precision of ingredients and the rhythm of movement. I found it when gardening, working with my hands, nurturing something from the ground up.

For a long time, I searched for that same feeling—the balance of focus and creativity—and I’ve finally found it in floral design. Every petal tells a story, every bloom has a purpose, and every flower, in its fleeting beauty, reminds us to be present. Floral design isn’t just about arranging flowers; it’s about being fully immersed in the moment, creating something meaningful, and letting nature take the lead.

My favorite flowers? Ranunculus and garden roses—ranunculus for their ever-changing bloom and natural movement, and garden roses for their timeless beauty.

I’m based in Connecticut, and when I’m not designing florals, you’ll find me tending to my garden, indoor cycling, or spending time with my two dogs and cat.
